šuolis su kartimi statusas T sritis Kūno kultūra ir sportas apibrėžtis Lengvosios atletikos greitumo jėgos rungtis, šuolio į aukštį atmaina – vertikalios kliūties įveikimas pasiremiant specialia kartimi. Šuolis su kartimi taip pat yra lengvosios atletikos vyrų dešimtkovės sudedamoji dalis. Šuolį su kartimi pradėta naudoti nuo neatmenamų laikų įvairioms natūralioms kliūtims (pvz., vandens grioviams, nedideliems tarpekliams) įveikti. Pirmosios šuolio su kartimi varžybos Anglijoje surengtos 1886 m. 1889 m. uždrausta kartimi lipti rankomis aukštyn. Į olimpinių žaidynių programą šuolis su kartimi įtrauktas nuo 1896 m. Tų metų žaidynėse W. Hoytas iš JAV įveikė 330 cm aukštį. Nuo 1912 m. registruojami oficialūs pasaulio rekordai. atitikmenys: angl. pole-vault vok. Stabhochsprung, m rus. прыжок с шестом
